Brachypelma boehmei

well, I finally got me a new spider, a 2" fireleg. dam this hobby is
addicting :-). I have heard about these guys being so beautiful when
they mature. so I am really looking forward to the transformation.
having a little trouble finding good reliable information on care
through. How often should I feed it small crickets, and does anyone
know the growth rate of these beauties? I seen some reports that these
guys like to burrow and others that they are like a pet rock, not sure
really what to think. also, humidity requirements, that's another
source of conflict. any help would surely be appreciated.


P.S. curious on the species list, would this be consided a beginner or intermediate species?

It is still a beginners spiders, but you have to beware of the hairs.
With the right soil B.boehmei will dig it's own little burrow and show a huge spec. of natural behavior.
You would find B.boehmei in wild in their burrow and outside.
They like humid air but not wet soil.

With the food, try a cricket and if it gets then, try a couple more.
If it stays in the tank, take the cricket out, usually it really depends on your spider and her abdomen how often she/he is gonna eat.
